Award-winning artist and hip-hop ambassador Toni Blackman invites you to join a very special Music Improv Session focused on using the voice as an instrument and getting in touch with your inner lyricist.
In this 90-minute session, Blackman will lead a small group of singers and players in a cypher – a circle of lyrical sharing. The experience will be co-operative and non-competitive in which Loop attendees can experiment with vocal techniques, get comfortable with lyrical improvisation, and learn how to access what Blackman calls the Flow State. Though designed for singers, lyricists, rappers and beatboxers, players are also welcome to join and help create the musical backdrop to an evening of vocal experimentation and lyrical flow.
No prior experience is necessary to attend this workshop.
